EXT. Devin Booker's Halloween Party – Night
"Every October"
EXT. Phoenix – Night, in combination with Devin's Halloween party
"Every October… legends come back. Not to haunt. To remind us why we love the game."
"Mirror Mayhem"
INT. Bathroom – Night
"Y'all remember the old folklore… if you say his name in the mirror three times, he appears."
"Don't do it!"
"Oh… I'm doing it."
"Mayhem… Mayhem… Mayhem…"
"I thought you were talking about Candyman!"
"No! Why would I summon Candyman? That guy is terrifying."
"But I'm even more afraid of this guy showing up tonight if y'all mess up my house during this party."
"That's right. Halloween scares disappear tomorrow. The ones I cause… don't."
"Bathroom Summons"
INT. Bathroom – Night (Same Party Opening)
"Y'all remember the old folklore… If you say it in the mirror… he appears."
"Don't do it!" … "Noooo!"
"Like a good neighbor… State Farm is there."
"Devin."
"Man, Jake… you scared me."
"I thought you were talking about Candyman!"
"No! Why would I call Candyman? That guy is scary!"
"Devin… why are we in your bathroom?"
"I had to stand in the mirror or it wouldn't work."
"That's only for Candyman. With State Farm… you could've stood anywhere. We've got whole home coverage."
"I know… but the mirror thing seemed cooler. Plus… I knew it'd freak everybody out. You guys cover food spoilage too, right?"
Book 2 — Outside The Lines
Devin Booker × McDonald's × Missing The Pieces, plus additional Nike & Red Bull concepts
Devin Booker vs. Ronald McDonald
"The One-On-One"
"Not again."
"How did you get those?"
"Okay… you got game for a clown. And apparently good taste."
"Want fries with those buckets?"
More Than The Game
"Who are you besides the sport you play?"
"Every kid here had plans." "A season to play." "A game to win." "A dream they were chasing."
"Who are you besides the sport you play?"
"I'm a big brother." · "I'm an artist." · "I want to help people someday."
"Basketball is a huge part of who I am. But it can't be the only thing. Because life doesn't always go according to plan."
"The athlete in that picture is still in you. But there's a lot more in you too."
"The game teaches us how to compete. Purpose teaches us how to keep going."
Outside The Lines
"Everything y'all been taught… is only part of the game."
"Playbook for outside the lines?"
"Everything y'all been taught… is only part of the game."
"Identity… is what you accept about yourself when nobody's naming you." — Athlete removes jersey in mirror.
"Discipline… is what you do when nothing is pushing you." — Alarm. Snooze. Conflict. Empty gym. Stops. Then pushes through.
"Purpose… is what keeps you moving when nothing's forcing you." — Scholarship letter, heavy, not celebratory. Coach message, read, ignored.
"Choices… are the moments that define you." — Turns away from the party. Walks away from peer pressure.
"So this how we win?"
"This is how you discover who you are… beyond the game."
Vehicle
"Basketball is the vehicle. Purpose is the destination."
"Get lower."
"What's your purpose, son?"
"Basketball."
"No. That's just the vehicle."
"What you do…" — kids playing basketball, laughing, competing, dreaming.
"Who you become…" — Booker walking through his community. Shaking hands. Giving high-fives. Showing up.
"Outside the lines…" — a burst of light. Drone reveal: the outdoor court Devin donated in Moss Point. Packed with kids. Packed with life. "…is even more important… than who you are inside the lines."
"This is why."
Outside The Lines
"Red Bull gives you wings… to fly outside the lines."
"Playbook for outside the lines?"
"Everything y'all been taught… is only part of the game."
"Identity… is what you accept about yourself when nobody's naming you." — Athlete removes jersey in mirror.
"Discipline… is what you do when nothing is pushing you." — Alarm. Snooze. Conflict. Empty gym. Then pushes through. Quick insert: Red Bull can sitting courtside.
"Purpose… is what keeps you moving when nothing's forcing you." — Scholarship letter, heavy. Coach message, ignored. Athlete grabs a Red Bull before walking into the empty gym.
"Choices… are the moments that define you." — Turns from the party. Walks away from peer pressure. Red Bull can crushed slightly in his hand as he chooses differently.
"So this how we win?"
"This is how you discover who you are… beyond the game." He takes one final sip of Red Bull.
Purpose Isn't Played. It's Lived.
